On Friday, October 15, we hosted our second annual benefit. Virtually. While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect our lives every day, the disease could not prevent us from sharing our message of hope for those who have suffered the tragedy of losing a spouse. Many tuned in and, ironically, many lost spouses to COVID-19. We honored those losses and celebrated the future awaiting widows and widowers alike. In 40 minutes, we encouraged, inspired, and entertained hundreds, perhaps thousands, of viewers.
By all measures, it was a resounding success. If you participated, thank you. If you did not, it’s not too late to a) watch the program (below) and, b) make a difference for our organization and the widow community we serve by donating to our cause.
We want to thank our emcee Sven Sundgaard, musicians Jenn Bostic and Miki Speer, author and speaker Michelle Steinke-Baumgard, and special guest Cheryl O’Shaughnessy for their contributions to a memorable evening.
All proceeds raised during our event will benefit the expansion of our financial coaching program. We match widows struggling with financial trauma and pro bono Certified Financial Planner professionals across the country. We guide these men and women back to financial wellness. We do this free of charge.
Wings for Widows is a 501(c)3 organization and contributions are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Thank you for your generosity and support.
