DAF Day

DAF Day: October 8, 2026

DAF Day is the national giving day dedicated entirely to donor-advised funds — the fastest-growing form of charitable giving in America. Held every second Thursday in October and organized by Chariot, DAF Day brings together donors, nonprofits, and DAF providers around one shared goal: moving more money to the causes that matter most.
Think of a donor-advised fund like a 401(k) for your philanthropy. You contribute to your DAF account, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to the charities you care about — on your own timeline. It's a simple, powerful way to give.
This year, October 8, 2026, marks the third annual DAF Day. Tens of thousands of donors nationwide are expected to participate, making it the single biggest DAF giving day of the year.
More than $360 billion sits in donor-advised fund accounts across the country. That's an extraordinary reservoir of generosity — and much of it hasn't yet found its way to the people and organizations that need it.
At Wings for Widows, we know what happens when the right support arrives at the right moment. Every year, we walk alongside hundreds of newly widowed men and women who are facing one of life's most devastating transitions — often while navigating complex financial decisions for the very first time, alone. Our network of 100+ volunteer CFP® professionals provides free, one-on-one financial coaching that helps clients move from crisis to confidence.
88 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to program services. Our clients, on average, report an 85% improvement in financial wellness after working with us.
Your DAF gift doesn't just sit in an account. It becomes a coaching session that changes a life. It becomes the moment a widow realizes she's going to be okay.
DAF Day is an invitation to activate the giving you've already committed to — and direct it where it can do profound good.

Giving from your donor-advised fund is easier than you might think. Here's how:
1. Log in to your DAF account.
Visit your DAF provider's website — Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Vanguard Charitable, or whichever institution holds your fund.
2. Recommend a grant to Wings for Widows.
Search for Wings for Widows (EIN: 82-3910357) in your provider's grant portal and enter the amount you'd like to give.
3. Submit your grant recommendation.
Once submitted, your DAF provider will process the gift and send it directly to us. You'll receive confirmation, and we'll reach out to thank you personally.
Want an even easier way? On DAF Day, you can give directly through the DAF Day platform at dafday.com — just search for Wings for Widows and give in a few clicks.
